Welcome. Le Hameau Baubet, translates as The Hamlet of Beautiful Rivers, as the Norsemen or Vikings called it approximately 700 years ago. This small Viking settlement of just five abodes with a boulangerie, stables, cow shed and a cider house is nestled between the two rivers La Douve and La Gloire. Daniel, the present owner, bought the run down little hamlet in 2002 has lovingly rebuilt and restored the property. This project was finished in 2012 and opened for business the following spring in 2013...

The interiors and beautiful gardens have all been created with a touch of theatre by the owner Daniel Parker, an Oscar nominated and BAFTA award winning make-up artist in the film industry. The results are delightful cottages full of personality and wonderful attention to detail. The farm itself is tucked away in a beautiful countryside location where children and pets can play in safety. The cottages are ideally placed for visiting the Mont St Michel, Bayeux, and the D-day Landing Beaches, or just enjoying the beauty of Cotentin area with it’s many walks and gorgeous empty white sandy beaches and dunes. Both coasts, very different in their nature, are within easy driving distance. The attractive market towns of Bricquebec and Valognes, 6km and 7km away, have all the shops you need, including four supermarkets and ample bakeries as well as fabulous market days. If you are a fan of the French street markets you can find one available every day nearby.
Sporting and leisure activities available nearby include; tennis, golf, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, sea fishing. With 200km of accessible coastline even in summer you can find a quiet spot, and most beaches are dog friendly. If you are keen on cycling there is a network of cycle routes that can be joined close to the house and walking is exceptional with many well planned coastal and inland sites to see. The cottages both have free Wi-Fi access and a large selection of information for local activities are in both cottages which should cover all your needs and possible adventures out into the Cotentin.
